The Moment is an early morning blog and (when he gets a moment to actually do all the things he has planned) collection of various projects of that fellow pictured here, a guy named Chris, an Irish-French Canadian from Ottawa.
In his fifty or so years he has been a writer, an editor, a photographer, a political organizer, a book seller, a produce vendor, a waiter, a weirdo in a toy shop, a bath house room attendant, a warehouse guard an event promoter, a low rent call boy, a professional drinker and about a million other things to pay rent and bills.
An activist for as long as he can remember, queer for as long as he can remember, he quickly came into disagreement with the Catholic Church he was born and raised in. Although he never lost the mythology of the faith, it’s human political stances have him constantly at odds with Rome.
For the last ten years he has been studying the various paths in Buddhism as an intellectual exercise and the next logical step after therapy and a therapy-inspired daily meditation routine.
The Moment is meant to be a collection of just that. Moments from our world. Moments of his life. Moments of brilliance from is friends and, because we are as we are, discussions on the conflicts and disagreements that distract us from what is important…
Living as well as we can, in the moment.
